Great pictures, looks like a real fun show! That right hand drive is pretty cool. Looks like there was a nice show up of first generation Z's! That silver/grey one was slammed!
yea, oh and there were several G-nose version. It's the first time I've ever seen a g-nose Z. I think it's my favorite style of Z now, lol Too bad my friend didn't catch any, but they look like these. There was a great green/black one there.
Very awesome! Yeah, the G nose is sweet. That red Z with the black hood looks stellar. Something tells me I'll be owning another one of these cars one day.
thanks! i love the white car with the hood raised. i think it's a mid 70s Skyline? it's a great bodystyle with the upturned window line. i love early to mid 70s japanese styling on it's higher line cars. the extended nose early Z is really nice too. i remember seeing photos of them back in the day and i always thought the longer nose helped the whole car, even though the hood is already impressively long!
i drove across country in the summer of '79 in a new Datsun 610 coupe that belonged to my friend Tobie. her parents bought it for her graduation. it was bright red with AC and auto trans-virtually a luxury model... it seemed very derivative and quaint at the time, since i had been lucky enough to drive a '76 Lancia Beta coupe for the year before that. but the Datsun was a pillarless coupe, frugal, comfortable and never gave us a hint of trouble, unlike the Lancia, which really drove only every other time you needed it to. i learned how to do a lot of things in that 610 going across country, lol.
