how about a new niche vehicle for Mercury... the Capri! a somewhat shortened, pillarless coupe of the Taurus. i gave it slightly rwd proportions for this limited edition... front appears to have a version of the bright-framed waterfall grille and reshaped headlights, and the rear looks like a shortened overhang and trim changes only. The character line along the sides has been made full length, as opposed to the 'broken' one on the Ford. the rocker panels are darkened and thin chrome strips are added in a nod to the popular, original Decor Group option on the '70s Capris
the Capri was a Ford of Europe model in the '70s, but when imported to the USA became a Mercury. it was also a mid '50s Lincoln trim level, and an early '60s euro Ford pillarless coupe, the Consul Capri. that was a very cool looking little car, somewhat aping the '60 sn '61 USA Ford Starliner bubble window coupe.
Oh... I didn't even know that the Capri made it state site in any form. If I was looking for an old ford, I think i'd track down one of those USDM Mercs then.
