Well it's official. My dad just closed a deal on a new Edge for my mom today. I don't know all the details except that it is Silver with black leather, and it has the Vista roof. Overall, I gotta say that I'm really impressed with Ford, or this particular dealership at least. My mom said that she wanted silver, black leather, and a vista roof. The salesman found one in Kentucky and it's being driven up here to Michigan at no extra cost. This is a tell tale sign that Ford really does care, or at least this individual.

The plan is to clean up the caddy tomorrow and the deal will go down friday morning. I know .. trading in an STS for an Edge? lol .. my mom loves it thought. She's likes being up high, plus it is a much more comfortable vehicle than the STS, and has more cargo room as well. She's excited, I'm excited for her. I'll be out of town this weekend, but I'll have some pics up for you guys next week.

He said it was silver, AJ. Very cool. Let us know what trim it is once you know. I saw one of the new Sports the other day... it looked really clean.

I guess it's a bright Silver. Dad says it looks pretty good, so we'll see.

So we picked up the Edge today. They actually had to fix a few things before they turned it over to us. The sunscreen on the Vista Roof was nonfunctional, as well as rear dome lights.

But it's a beautiful car, let me tell ya! SEL, Brilliant Silver, Black leather interior, Sun & Sync package, 18" chrome clad wheels (didn't have one with the optional 20's), heated seats, and rear park assist. Doesn't have the super audio system, but the 4 speaker set up isn't all that bad.

The dealership Synced my mom's cell phone for her, and she's lovin' that. It's a very functional system. You don't have to yell at it. You can be heard speaking at a normal volume and it's as clear as day.

Seeing that I have this thread going, I just might be pickin' up some new wheels of my own here within the next 30 days, provided that "Cash for Clunkers" comes through. All I'll tell you is that we gave the dealership $500 to hold a car for me, so lets just hope and pray that the Department of Transportation gets their asses in gear so I can pick up my ride.

The Edge is great though. Smooth, quite, extremely comfortable, and a joy to drive. I will take some pictures tomorrow after class, provided that my mom is home. Hopefully have them up come the end of the night.

coo, will be nice to see it. I always felt 18" were a very appropriate size for the truck.

I agree, and the wheels do look nice. However, I personally prefer 20's on the Edge, and most SUV's for that matter. The 22's on the sport though are too big for that car.

Cash for Clunkers passed, but it won't go into affect for more than a month.

The black is great. It's much darker than what you see in the pictures, though.

It's surprisingly comfortable too, shockingly comfortable, in fact. In all honesty, the back seat is more comfortable than a BMW X5, Land Rover Range Rover, or a Mercedes ML500. All of which have very hard and straight second row seating.

With the standard telescoping steering wheel, driver's positioning is nearly perfect for anyone. My mother is 5'5", and she is very comfortable in the seat .. just as much as her STS. Me, being 6'1", there aren't many other cars out there that are more comfortable to drive. The side bolsters are supportive, and very comfortable as well.

I give the Edge 2 thumbs up. I can't wait for the 2011 next summer to see the improvements Ford will be making. I'm very excited, considering the drastic steps they took with overhauling the Fusion and the rave reviews that new car is getting.

Kudos to Ford.

i like it all except the steering wheel, just never a fan of ford steering wheels. But looks great. Sometimes when I read posts I miss details and when you were talking about an EDGE i thought you were talking about the older Ranger EDGE, I was like in my head "bit weird your mom wanted a truck over a caddy, but whatever is better for her" but now I see, lol.
