In Iran the traffic lights have a counter on the green and red lights. I only think this makes things worse for accidents but makes it a heck of a lot more fun for drag racing
hehe yea we got those on some of the cross walks too, just added them about 4 or 5 years ago. Yea at night in Iran they definitely race. One female rally racer made a comment about the count down lights making it feel more like a race track. Also in Iran a lot of the curbs have striping like they do on race courses. But they're usually on the inner sides like in this image.
so count down lights and race stripped curbs makes it more enticing to drive fast =P
glad i don't live there... i'd be in sooooo much trouble, lol. we have those count down cross walks in college station at most of the cross walks connected to campus.
actually that's one of the problems over there, traffic tickets aren't a big thing, they're too lax on it and they don't cost much so drivers do a lot of crazy things. When I told my cousin-in-law that if you ran a red light you'd basically need to pay 300 bucks since you'd want to go to traffic school too it look like he saw a ghost, his eyes got so big and was like "noooooo...." as if I told him some weird ghost story, lol.
