It seems the newest big thing with the new diesels if you want more power and better fuel economy is to remove the particulate filter on the exhaust. honestly, what is coming out of the exhaust that is so evil, carbon dust?

I love the black smoke but there is a reason why they have put on the DPFs.

Honestly, is the need to burn 33% more fuel one of those reasons?

Things will get better. This is just the first generation. We started out with cars that were choked beyond belief and now have the Veyron. I am sure there will be something better down the road.

I hope we have something better, my dream SD now has the BOSS 6.2 rather than the 6.7 litre Scorpion diesel....
