Some very surprising results.. for example, the F150 had the best average fuel economy.. who knew?

The Dodge Ram's new coil-over's in the back were a pretty big let down. The things they are supposed to be superior at, well .. they just weren't.

The biggest surpise though was how poorly the Tundra performed .. that truck really sucks.

Which is a direct result of the drag races, hill climb, braking, and squat test .. basically. Take away the big powerful engine, and it has nothing at all to contribute to this segment. I mean .. it's highest feature score was a 3/6, and driving impressions were low too.. In today's market, it's not good enough. It can hall some weight, but that's all the truck has.. plus a very low ground clearance :/

If I want ground clearance I'll just step up to an F-250 or f-350 with the snow plow package. Bam! Factory installed 2 inch lift!

that's the F150's second comparo win with all the new trucks. and there's only been 2 so far. i'd say 2/2 is a decent record so far. now if it could just get an engine up to par with the rest it would blow them out of the water!

The 6.2 is in the Raptor and they're finalizing it, I want to see it optional across the line. Will fuel economy suck? Hell yes! Do I care? Hell no! You can't have both!

You're in the city, those trucks spent at least some time maintaining speed on a highway...

I didn't think Ford would be able to do it again, but they set the bar pretty high. The 6-speed sounds like it's great for towing. They mentioned that in tow-hall mode, the rpms remained fairly high when accelerating. While the 5.4 is underpowered, it seemed to perform very well. It's a solid motor, and now it seems that Ford has, without question, the most comprehensive drive-train you can buy.

The traction test was very cool .. and the F150 was bar none the best at that. I never thought of a test like that, but I was shocked to see the difference in the trucks.

I had no idea how advanced the trailer-sway system was.. the only one out there to control the trucks brakes and the trailer brakes in order to maintain control at all times. Sounds like a pretty intelligent system.

It was also cool to see that the F150 has the most suspension travel. That's pretty big when it comes to off-roading.

I would have liked to see a slalom run with the trailer on back.. so we could really see which truck has the best trailer sway control. I would have to predict F150, bu it would certainly be interesting to see what would happen.

Also, I want to see these guys put the '08 and '09 F150's side by side so we can really see how much Ford improved this truck. People keep saying it's a refresh .. ha!! Sounds like the greatest truck ever built to me. Everything has been upgraded and improved on greatly.

Major Kudos to Ford .. totally blew me away.

The 5.4 posted the slowest times accelerating at least once, if not twice, if I'm not mistaken. It's comprehensive when i can leave quarter mile long strips of black from mashing the throttle. Until then, it's mediocre.

yeah, i don't see how it's the most "comprehensive' powertrain available.

Comprehensive: covering broadly

When towing, the 6-speed keeps the revs higher. Reading the article, they said because of the ford tranny, it was the only truck to actually gain momentum on the hill climb under a load. That's pretty impressive considering it has less power. It has the best rear diff/traction system. It handles the best. It has the highest tow rating. Has the best average fuel economy. The only thing the Ford power-train didn't do the best was accelerate .. and in all reality, is 1 or a half second that long? So in terms of the definition, it covered everything else.

It is the most comprehensive drive-train out there. The others are faster .. wow, they must be better.

Acceleration is a HUGE thing when you're trying to merge onto the interstate with 4 or 5 tons behind you. You only have so much time and space to use, you need to be able to haul ass and get up to the speed of the flow of traffic by the time you're at the end of the on ramp. If you aren't going fast enough then good luck to you, sir.

Yeah, the 6 speed helps the 5.4 out immensely, but the others have 6 speeds AND more power. Doesn't the Chevy make 403 horsepower?

Frankly I want nothing to do with traction or stability control unless I can deactivate it completely. Only case I'd appreciate it is the trailer sway control.

Well, the you'll be the truck that couldn't get up the traction test hill ...

Power isn't everything.. the effy has plenty of it. It can get up to speed when merging just fine. The fact is, nobody hauls 5 tons with a half-ton. It's not smart, and can be dangerous. My dad pulled 9000 pounds one time, and he wasn't very confident.

And according to the Pickuptrcuks guys, the other's 6-speeds don't compare to the Fords ..
