The Ram is ok but it is not what a truck should be. If it was what a truck should be they would have not sacrificed towing for comfort. Now that dodge has that suspension system I wonder if ford could put the IRS system form the Expedition in the F150. That would be awesome.
And sacrifice payload? That's not what Ford does .. they just increased payload with bigger leafs, why use IRS? The only advantage of IRS is improved handling and ride quality, and the F150 is already at the top on both of those.
The IRS system isn't really what they need, it would add weight and complexity, not to mention price. Maybe as an option on the Platinum trims, maybe even for the Raptor, but don't standardize it. The guys buying XL trim regular cab trucks don't give a shit about comfort, they want durability, reliability, capability.
It would be good for the Fx4 and Raptor. You'd have more center ground clearance and you could make the bed deeper too. Plus it is basically bullet proof in the Expi. Hell, it can tow 9100 lbs. That's more than a SRA in the new F150 without the Heavy duty payload package. Actually, i found that some supercrews can tow 13000 lbs without the package.
