That is right folks, leaked this morning from Chrysler was that the Jeep Commander will be the fifth vehicle announced to be dropped. Likely to stop production half way through 2009 and be replace by a 3 row Grand Cherokee.

can't say it would be missed much. that truck was pretty much useless since the 3rd row seat had no leg room.

Got to agree. I loved the design, but hated it for the fact that a) it was useless and b) all it did was cannibalize sales from the JGC.

Good riddance IMO. I heard the next GC will be bigger anyway. I wanna see a return of the 2-door Cherokee!

You could just get a Wrangler.

True..........but the Cherokee is more for people who aren't gonna be off-roading 90% of the time.....it would be much quieter and more pleasant to drive while still retaining most of its off-road capabilities.

Yea, I too wish they made a 2dr version of the Liberty. Also, I wish they would make a small pickup off of that platform as well.

I liked the way it looked much better than the GC.

As far as I'm concerned, I'd rather they stop making the GC and keep the Commander. It looks like a Jeep should.

Maybe......but shrink it a little and get rid of the pointless 3rd row.

I have a way to get rid of the 3rd row. It's called taking it out and putting it in the closet.

More space for my gear that way as well...

i agree with the styling, the Commander looks SOOOOO much better than the GC... i'd rather see the GC go bye-bye, personally.

See, I think the opposite. I think the GC is a much better vehicle than the Commander. In looks, performance, and even space due to the fact that it doesn't have that ridiculous third row.
