This is what 63 units of of Nikon D40s look like

This is what US$4200 of photographic equipment look like. Thankfully, it ain't mine. That lens was fricking heavy. I'd be afraid to use it in any way.

BTW, its a Sigma APO 150-500 mm lens attached to a Canon EOS 5D MarkII camera.

F YEA! That's some awesome gear there. Don't worry about the heaviness of the lens you get used to it, mines not as heavy but still heavy. Plus at certain times you can use your knee as a prop. With out mine I really couldn't get some of the shots I really like. Mines not auto (really wish I had one) but it does the job. This is the one I have.

It's a really old Pentax 1:4/300 from the late 70's, but still works with the DSLR. Without it I couldn't take shots of these

Where you just in the shop and they randomly brought them in or are you for shadowing something?

Both. I got myself one of the D40s with a very basic 18-55 mm lens. Since I'm only a beginner I'll put off the 5D Mark II with the Sigma lens for a bit.

Anyway, I'll post pics of what I shot with it soon.

BTW, I took those pics with my cellphone camera hence the graininess and how'd you do the lighting effect on those images?

Oh nice! I only hear great things about the D40s I think I might have gotten one of those if I didn't already have the pentax lenses. The lighting in those pictures are little over exposed, but also it's the time of day, it was 6:30 in the afternoon when the sun sets early.

Cool.

Anyway, I might have made a bad choice of purchase with the D40. I was researching it further on the web and found out that it was already on its way to being phased out. I should have gotten a D60 instead. It had 4 more megapixels, an automatic sensor cleaner and was only about P5000 ($100 or so) more. The store had one but they only had the body (no lens).

No idea. But apparently it activates everytime you switch the camera on and it removes any errant dust particle.

That's about 30x the camera I actually need. Still cool though.

It uses ultrasonic vibrations on the sensor to clean it every time it is powered on and off, unless they've changed the design since I stopped working at Best Buy :)

*drool* good camera.

So we can expect some awesome racing shots soon? Also remember part of good shots has nothing to do with the camera but the willingness to get into the most horrible/dangerous places to take the picture. Really wish i didn't load the film wrong on my old K1000 when i was running through a melting glacier T_T
