The current GTO (my car) would have done better, IMO, if it was a Grand Prix coupe. I think this car would do well in the market. I still need my 4 doors on the G8 GT
yea sedans are still more popular, but it does good publicity to have a coupe in a line up. Pontiac does kinda need a big coupe for it's hailo position. G8 coupe period looks nice, I think I would rather have that over the new camaro.
Oh btw, we have the RSS feeds in the news section for autoblog and you can hit discuss under any of the articles and it will auto create a topic for you or if it already has been made it will just bring you to the topic. It also puts it in the appropriate section. Like the region or sports sections.
I definitely think a 2-door zeta for Pontiac is a strong possibility. However, I don't see them calling it anything other than G8 coupe... it will most likely follow the pattern. G6 got a coupe, and it's called G6 coupe.
Buuut, speculation not too long ago said the GTO would be back on the Zeta platform. I hope the follow through with it, because it could be a sweet car. Maybe we'll get a G8 coupe and a GTO.. even better.
I'm still curious why companies just don't offer huge front a rear options. I mean some clones the only difference is the grill and some go a bit further other pretty far. But it would be really interesting to see if a person could pic between say 3 or even two completely different styles for their front and rear of the car.
Call it the GTO, and for pete's sake, give it unique styling please!! Other than that, I'm looking forward to it. This new-age pony-car war is getting interesting.
I think the pony car war will go on, but in a different form. There will still be high power Camaro's and Mustang's, but with different technology. Such as Ford's EcoBoost system and GM's Volt hybrid powertrain. They'll be just as fast, but smarter.
Well, as far as GM is concerned, I think the Camaro may still be able to live on even after the new CAFE standards go into effect. If I'm not mistaken, I read in either Motor Trend or Car and Driver that the possibility of the Camaro switching to the smaller, lighter Alpha platform could give it a long-term future. Even Ford is forward-thinking with their Eco-Boost engines, but somehow I don't think traditionalists will be too happy with this move.
i don't care how the pony cars make power as long as they do. they be brutal and have gobs of torque. if they can achieve that with TT V6's, then why not?
