.. except it's not going to be called the Lightning.. is is believe to be the HD F150, but high performance.
So does this mean the HD won't be available as a big SuperCrew truck? Because if that's the case, I don't like the idea. If the Harley is going to become a reg cab, 550 hp machine, I don't like it.
I don't know. SVT has not been directly involved with the HD F150. Sure they tunned their engine and suspension but it never was the SVT Harley Davidson F150
That's verbatim the same stuff from link I posted.. but anyway..
People are assuming the 5.4 motor will be used.. hmm.. I doubt it. If Ford really is going to phase that motor out in the future, they won't.
However, Ford still has no plans for the "Twin Force" (Ecoboost) V8. They said there will be one, but up to this point, they have not specified which vehicle it will be in. And SVT effy is the perfect candidate if you ask me. I think we can also assume it will be in the next GT500, and possibly Ford's next flagship sedan, which is supposed to be here by 2010, but still no word on that either.
They'll probably use the GT500 engine, it's already there, tested, tuned, and ready to haul ass. Now, an ecoboost 6.2 making almost 100 hp/litre is a wet dream of mine....
SVT has always lended a hand in tuning the harley davidson trucks, this is nothing new. from what i read, it doesn't sound like an actual SVT vehicle, just a SVT tuned vehicle. i won't get excited till i see a SVT badge on a regular cab F-150 putting out 500+ horses.
Those pics don't look like a "high performance" truck to me. Just from what I've read about the new LIghtning, if you will, it's not going to be 4WD, and it won't be a SuperCrew. SO maybe that link from Leftlane is the HD, and perhaps Ford is not going to use the HD name for their new high perf. truck. Or.. I could be wrong all together :)
