Well, I finally bought a new car. We picked it up friday, dad cosigned for me, and we drove away with it. I was able to put down a nice down-payment, enough so to have a monthly payment of $156 a month, for 5 years.

Most of you, that are still here that is, already know that it's probably a Ford by the way I've been speaking about it in another thread. However, I'll leave you with a couple teaser pics for now, and post more tomorrow of my new ride. It shouldn't be too hard to figure out, but let me know what you think.

It feels good to have a brand new car, let me tell ya. I'm very excited and having a lot of fun with it.

2009 Ford Fusion SE w/ Blue Suede package(blue suede seat inserts, blue stitching in seats, console, and steering wheel, sport-tuned suspension, 18" painted aluminum) ambient lighting, sunroof, 9 speaker audiophile (i think it's audiophile), 2.3L I4, 5-speed manual, awesomeness!!!!

The car handles great, very smooth, quiet as my mom's Edge, and very comfortable.

Ya, I'm excited. The only thing that is missing is the Sport Appearance Package, which adds a black chrome grille, same wheels but darker, body colored fog light bezels, and a rear lip spoiler. That would make it the perfect Fusion.

But I'm stoked. I will probably add a spoiler and do a CAI next summer .. maybe do plugs and some other wiring as well. This fall i'm looking to add new exhaust tips from Ford Racing, new shifter nob (when I find one, that is), go fully synthetic, and upgrade my O2 sensor to get some more mpg's.

Yeah, on a new car, I wouldn't be messing with much. New exhaust tip and shifter knob is fine, but I wouldn't mess with the O2 sensor.

Well i won't be doing any of it, personally. My dad's mechanic, who is an absolute genius .. built custom cars for 18 years .. would be doing all my upgrades for me. He does all of the work on our cars. And like I said, I won't be doing anything major until next year anyway. It's best to get some miles on the car first.

But I think I'm going to go pick up a new exhaust tip this weekend. Ford Racing makes one that I like a lot. Just a dual tip, 3 1/2" OD with a 3" ID. Should look real nice.

OKay .. these are the tips that I'm looking at buying. But I have some beef with them though.

www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp

The stock tips on the Fusion are welded to the muffler .. naturally. These tips from FordRcing slide over the stock tips, and clamp on. Well I hate that idea. Here's what I'm thinking. I will cut off and remove probably 4 inches of the stock tips, leaving 3 inches for the 7 inch tip to slide over and clamp on to. Because I really don't want a 1 3/4" tip sticking out of my 3" tip .. i've seen this shit before and it looks aftermarket, lazy, and cheap.

Will my idea work? I don't see why it wouldn't.. as long as I leave enough of the stock pipe to clamp to, it should be alright, wouldn't you agree?

I'd just take it to a muffler shop and have them cut off the stock tips and weld new ones on the size of the exhaust.

Cool!! I really like the blue inserts on the seats. Its nice to see another 5-speed sedan owner too. :-D

My friend has a Mazda3 with a short ram intake and I've driven it a few times. You're gonna love the way it sounds.
