SAAB has filed for bankruptcy in Sweden. The automaker currently employs more than 3,000 employees in Sweden. SAAB in North America is located in Royal Oak, Michigan and currently employs 50 people. When SAAB filed for bankruptcy, they immediately suspended all current and future warranty claims for the automaker. SAAB in North America held closed door meetings on Tuesday afternoon that began at twelve noon. Those meetings did not end until after 5pm EST. The result of those meetings are not available, but here is what we do know. General Motors has stepped in to cover warranty claims for all North American SAABS sold by General Motors.
